Congo fever patient critical but stable
The 39-year-old woman was admitted to the private facility on 5 January.
CAPE TOWN - A woman being treated for Congo fever remains in a critical but stable condition, officials at the Vergelegen Mediclinic said on Friday.
The 39-year-old patient was admitted almost a week ago to the private hospital in Somerset West.
People with Congo fever suffer from flu-like symptoms and haemorrhaging.
The hospital's Pieter Lotz says, "The patient is still in ICU in a critical but stable condition."
