CAPE TOWN - Community members in Belhar say it's been a difficult few days after two children in their area disappeared.

Twelve-year-old Justin Lee Jacobs and 10-year-old Junaid Baker both went missing last Saturday.

Police say even though the boys went missing on the same day, it's unclear if their cases are linked.

Jacobs's neighbour Allison Galant says they're assisting police in the search for the two boys.

"I'm very worried that Justin has not returned yet, as it is unlike him. He never sleeps away from home and we have been looking and searching for days."

On Thursday, Missing Children South Africa's Michelle Knowles gave a description of Jacobs. She said he has brown eyes, black hair, protruding teeth and he stutters a bit.

He was wearing a plain deep blue T-shirt, dark blue three-quarter jeans and blue denim takkies.

The Western Cape has become synonymous with children going missing for days or even months and this trend surged in particular in the past year. More children went missing and many of those found were murdered.
