A tombstone for Anene

Annica Marincowitz is raising money for a tombstone for murder victim Anene Booysen.

Anene Booysen was raped and murdered in Bredasdorp in February 2012.

CAPE TOWN - A woman who has been raising funds for a tombstone for Anene Booysen says she still needs about R4,000.

The Overberg town of Bredasdorp made headlines last year when the local 17-year-old girl was raped, mutilated and left for dead at a construction site.

Johannes Kana, aged 21, is currently serving a double life sentence for her murder.

Annica Marincowitz says she has so far raised about R6,000 to build a dignified tombstone for Anene.

"I was very upset and I think a lot of South Africans were. I decided to put a post on Facebook saying that I wanted to help raise money and I've had a very good response."
