CT officials assist fire victims
Around 1,400 residents at the Agstelaan informal settlement were left destitute after a fire.
CAPE TOWN - Building material has been supplied to more than 270 Valhalla Park households, the City of Cape Town confirmed on Tuesday.
Around 1,400 residents at the Agstelaan informal settlement were left destitute following a blaze just before Christmas.
The fire took place on 23 December.
Some of those affected have been housed in community halls.
Cape Town Disaster Management's Wilfred Solomons-Johannes said units have been erected in the area.
"There are still approximately 150 other households who need to be assisted."
