The family sat in court wiping away their tears as they came face to face with the accused.

The matter has been postponed to allow the suspect time to appoint a lawyer or apply for legal aid.

Jasmin's father was escorted out of court as community members called for his blood.

Meanwhile, Women, Children and People with Disabilities Minister Lulu Xingwana reacted with shock and anger to the crime.
