Seven time F1 champion Michael Schumacher is reportedly not seriously injured after a fall while on a skiing trip in France.

JOHANNESBURG - The director of the ski resort in France where Michael Schumacher was in an accident earlier today says the Formula One legend's injuries are not very serious.

The seven-time F1 champion was airlifted to hospital after he hit his head on a rock while skiing.

The 44-year-old was reportedly wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.

Sports writer Kevin Garside told CNN that Schumacher's injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
