FF Plus: Minority groups feel alienated
Party leader Pieter Mulder says the country has moved away from real reconciliation.
JOHANNESBURG - The Freedom Front Plus (FF Plus) on Monday said the past few days following the death of former president Nelson Mandela have indicated how far the country has moved away from real reconciliation.
The party says on this Reconciliation Day, minority groups still feel alienated.
FF Plus Leader Pieter Mulder says, "I'm really concerned about the way in which the Afrikaner history is being portrayed, which is predominantly negative and one-sided. Of course we made mistakes in the past, but we also made a huge contribution to the economic power of this country. I really think we need a more balanced view of history and Afrikaners."
