WC Traffic: Do not apply makeup in traffic

CAPE TOWN - Western Cape Traffic Chief Kenny Africa has urged motorists to report those who do their makeup while sitting in traffic.

Africa says they are trying to make the roads safer and they need motorists to work with them.

He encouraged motorists to report bad driving.

"That is also to our ladies, who in the peak our traffic in the mornings, doing their eyelashes and lipstick and those types of things. Report those people to us so that we can do something about it."

He says drunken driving remains a problem.

Africa also warned reckless drivers.

"If motorists do not adhere to our calls to stay within the speed limit and those speedsters who think they can go excessive speed at night, surprise, surprise we are there 24 hours a day and we will arrest them."

The province is expecting increased traffic volumes as people will make their way to holiday destinations.
