Madiba honoured on Table Mountain
Capetonians will be able to see a laser image of Mandela on table mountain every night.
CAPE TOWN - The Western Cape government is honouring Madiba in a very unusual way, by projecting the icon's face on Table Mountain.
Madiba's face being projected on Table Mountain by laser beams has aroused a lot of interest from locals and tourists alike with many people flocking to the mountain to view it.
Western Cape government says the tribute laser display will run every night until Monday, a day after his funeral which will take place in Madiba's home town of Qunu.
Government says this kind of tribute was inspired by the fact that Mandela saw Table Mountain as a beacon of hope while incarcerated on Robben Island.
Capetonians close to the mountain will be able to see Madiba's laser image on display from 9pm until midnight.
