JOHANNESBURG - More tributes are being planned around the country following the passing of former President Nelson Mandela.

Madiba died last week at the age of 95.

In Houghton, the Nelson Mandela Centre of Memory will host a celebratory tribute on Monday evening, which will be led by Archbishop Emeritus Desmond Tutu.

A host of local musicians will be in attendance at the event.

Johannesburg Mayor Parks Tau is also expected to attend the function.

Chairs are already being moved out and speakers are being set up, all against the backdrop of the 'Forgotten trial of Nelson Mandela' exhibition at the centre.

Monday night's tribute will be open to the public and hundreds are expected to attend.

Ordinary citizens continue to visit the centre to leave messages of condolence.
