CAPE TOWN - Cricketer Paul Adams on Monday said it's important that former president Nelson Mandela's legacy in sport continues.

He met Madiba when the played for the national team in the 1990s.

Adams says he will always cherish his brief meeting with the former president.

"I will always remember spending those few moments in his company and the kind words he said to me in that period when I was playing at the height of my cricket. "

He says Madiba was a great example to young and old.

"I would like his memory and his legacy to live on. We must remember the example he set."
