Eskom CEO Brian Dames resigns

JOHANNESBURG - Eskom Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Brian Dames has announced his resignation from the power utility after serving just over three years at the helm.

Dames made the announcement at the utility's interim results presentation this morning.

Dames was appointed CEO of Eskom Holdings on 1 July 2010.

He was appointed to the Eskom Executive Committee in 2004 after serving Eskom in various management positions.

He joined the utility in 1987 as a graduate in training.

He has extensive experience in electricity business, and holds a BSc (Hons), a Graduate Diploma in Utility Management from Samford (USA) and an MBA.
