Man killed in mob justice attack
A suspected robber’s body was discovered near Mfuleni farms in Western Cape.
CAPE TOWN - Western Cape police are investigating the circumstances surrounding a mob justice killing in the Mfuleni township.
A suspected robber was apparently stoned and mutilated at the weekend.
The police's Andre Traut says, "His body was found near the Mfuleni farms. The circumstances indicate that he was beaten to death. No one has been arrested."
This incident is one of several that have occurred this year alone.
In October, police arrested seven people in connection with a triple murder in Khayelitsha where three men were stoned to death during an apparent argument in the Harare area.
Many have blamed a breakdown in communication between police and community members as a reason for mob justice.
