The seven-year-old was apparently raped at a house in Rosemoor.
CAPE TOWN - A seven-year-old girl has been raped in George, Southern Cape police revealed on Friday.
The child was apparently sexually assaulted at a house in Rosemoor.
This is one of more than 50 rape cases reported in the Western Cape this week alone.
The police's Bernadine Steyn said, "The suspect approached the victim and took her to a nearby house where he allegedly raped her on the bed. The suspect will appear in the George Magistrates Court on Monday."
Meanwhile, the case of a man accused of raping a six week-old baby girl in Galeshewe near Kimberley has been postponed to 12 December.
The 24-year-old man, thought to be the infant's uncle, appeared briefly in the Kimberley Magistrates Court on Thursday.
The baby girl is in a critical but stable condition in ICU.
