JOHANNESBURG - R75 million worth of drugs have been seized on Gauteng's East Rand, the Hawks confirmed on Wednesday.

The crime-fighting group described the bust as one of the biggest in its history.

The Hawks also believe the syndicate is the largest in the area.

Two men were arrested in Kempton Park when they were caught with about 50 kg of drugs.

Hawks spokesperson Paul Ramaloko said, "We arrested one Nigerian man and one Tanzanian man. We confiscated 20 kg of heroin, 15 kg of cocaine and 15kg of tik."

He says the pair will appear in court soon.
