Trevor Noah scoops US comedy show
The comedy show is inspired by the Noah's experience of growing up in Soweto.
JOHANNESBURG - South African comedian Trevor Noah is set to star in his own US comedy show.
According to_ Deadline.com_, the half-hour comedy show is inspired by Noah's experience growing up in Soweto as the son of a Swiss father and a South African mother.
The show is being produced by Legendary Television and Overbrook Entertainment, a company owned by Jade Pinkett-Smitt and Will Smith.
Last year, Noah became the first South African comedian to appear on _The Tonight Show with Jay Leno _and has since also appeared on The Late Show with David Letterman.
Another one of Noah's US comedy specials_ African American_ is currently airing on the Showtime network.
