JOHANNESBURG - The state is still waiting for medical reports of a 10-year-old pupil who claims he was raped by his teacher in Soweto.

The primary school teacher briefly appeared in the Protea Magistrates Court on a charge of rape on Friday.

The young boy from the Sediba-Thuto Primary School in Soweto claims the teacher gave him detention for not completing his homework.

The teacher then allegedly sexually assaulted him.

The man still needs to obtain legal representation and will reveal next week if he wants to apply for bail.
