Pakistan level series with win
The visitors managed to beat the Proteas by six runs at Newlands on Friday night.
CAPE TOWN - It was never going to be an easy run chase for the Proteas against Pakistan in the second T20 at Newlands.
The home team needed 17 to win from the last over but fell six runs short of that which saw Pakistan level the two match series one all.
JP Duminy and David Miller were at the crease and with the way the pair were batting it looked like the Proteas would get the runs.
But there was no run of the first ball which meant the pressure mounted.
Despite Duminy ending on an unbeaten 47 the win was not meant to be.
Miller's cameo at the end also was not enough to take the team over the line.
Pakistan managed a good batting performance something they have been lacking in their previous tour against South Africa.
This time Umar Akmal scored 64 with captain Mohammed Hafeez chipping in with a worthy 63, the visitors finally rose to the challenge.
Proteas bowlers also did not have the best day with the ball.
Dale Steyn picked up two wickets with Wayne Parnell and Aaron Phangiso getting a wicket each.
The teams will now shift to ODI mode for their first game on Sunday at Newlands.
