JOHANNESBURG - Eyewitness News understands prosecutors have now served two new charges on Paralympic and Olympic athlete Oscar Pistorius.

Pistorius goes on trial in March 2014 for allegedly killing his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp on Valentine's Day.

The National Prosecuting Authority wanted the two new charges added to the matter, but arguments over jurisdiction meant they could only confirm the development on Wednesday.

An 18-page charge sheet served on Pistorius's lawyers details the charges he'll have to answer to.

The two new gun-related charges stem from incidents in which the Blade Runner allegedly recklessly discharged firearms in public.

This includes accidently firing a friend's gun while sitting at a Tasha's restaurant in Melrose Arch.

In a separate incident, he allegedly shot through the sunroof of a car while driving with ex-girlfriend Samantha Taylor.
