CAPE TOWN - The Democratic Alliance (DA) in the Eastern Cape says it has no immediate plans to press charges after an office of one of their councillors was torched.

Violence erupted in Uitenhage earlier this week when people invaded land in the northern areas.

Matters quickly turned sour when they were forced to relocate.

Four people were arrested and charged with public violence.

The DA's Gustav Rautenbach says, "We will interview our councillors who were threatened to see where we're going with this. If we can identify people, my advice would be to formally lay criminal charges."
