JOHANNESBURG - Kensington Palace has confirmed that Britain's Prince Harry will stop over in Cape Town on Sunday before heading off to the South Pole for a charity race.
Harry and his teammates will be in Cape Town for two days before flying to Antarctica on Tuesday to partake in the Walking with the Wounded - South Pole 2013 challenge.
The expedition aims to highlight the courage of men and women injured while serving their country.
According to _ BBC_, the team is expected to trek for between 15 to 20 kilometres per day dragging 70 kilogramme sledges.
As part of his expedition training, Harry spent a night in a sub-zero army test facility in September.
The aim is to beat teams from the US and the Commonwealth to the southernmost point on the globe.
True Blood actor Alexander Skarsgard will race for the American team while _The Wire _actor Dominic West will race for the Canadian/Australian team.
The race begins on 30 November and is expected to end on 16 December.
