JOHANNESBURG - Kaizer Chiefs has denied claims that assistant coach Doctor Khumalo had any role to play in team selection ahead of the Legends game against Liverpool.

Former players Jabu Mahlangu and Shakes Kungwane claimed they were left out of the team due to Khumalo's selfishness.

Chiefs spokesperson Vina Maphosa said the former midfielder had no say in the selection of the team.

"Doctor Khumalo hasn't picked any legend team, the team was picked by the Kaizer Chiefs Club."

The match between Kaizer Chiefs and Liverpool will kick off at 2pm on Saturday.

Kungwane declined to comment on the matter.
