Pirates prepares to do battle
All eyes will be on Cairo for the CAF final between Orlando Pirates and Al Ahly tonight.
CAIRO - Orlando Pirates supporters are expected to pack into pubs and other venues this evening for the big game against Al Ahly.
However, Pirates supporters in Cairo will be hopelessly outnumbered when they face the Egyptian side in the African Champions League Final.
A handful of supporters have made their way to that country and it seems the Buccaneers are even getting support from some Egyptians.
It would seem not many Pirate supporters have been able to make the long trip to watch their side in the final.
There are extremely rare sighting of Bucs supporters in Cairo and perhaps even outnumbered by the South African media contingent.
Coach Roger de Sa knows South African football supporters need something to celebrate.
"To have to beat them in their own backyard is going to be very difficult. I know both countries are looking for the only bit of success left over this year."
Meanwhile, Pirates are getting support from fans of Cairo's other big club Zamalek thanks to their fierce rivalry with Al Ahly.
Zamalek supporters would rather see the visitors win than Al Ahly get an eighth title.
Kick-off is at 6pm.
