Child stabbed to death with wire
A three-year-old child has died, allegedly at the hands of an eight-year-old boy he was playing with.
CAPE TOWN - Western Cape police are investigating the death of a three-year-old Mfuleni child, allegedly at the hands of an eight-year-old boy.
The incident occurred while the boys were playing together on Monday.
The police's Andre Traut says, "The three-year-old boy was stabbed with a piece of wire in his head. He succumbed to his injuries the next day in hospital. The circumstances surrounding this matter are now being investigated."
At the same time police are investigating the death of a toddler who was found floating in a daycare centre pool near Parow, north of Cape Town.
Paramedics attempted to resuscitate the child for an hour on Wednesday morning to no avail.
Traut says, "An inquest docket has been registered following the death of a one-year-old boy who drowned in a swimming pool on Wednesday morning. The circumstances are being investigated."
Cops are also appealing to the public for information after the body of a newborn baby was found dumped in Goodwood.
