JOHANNESBURG - South African Football Association (Safa) president Danny Jordaan has urged South Africans to go to OR Tambo International and support Orlando Pirates as they head to Egypt.

The team is due to fly to Cairo ahead of their Confederation of African Football (CAF) Champions second leg final.

The farewell will begin at 19:00 before the team's plane departs for Cairo.

Jordaan has urged fans to turn out in their numbers.

"The fans have always been the engine of the drive behind the team and driving the team to success. They need to be there to give the team a send-off they will remember and they must return the favour by coming back with a trophy."

Meanwhile, Pirates will train at the Al Ahly Stadium in the build up to their CAF Champions League second leg final.

The teams are tied at 1-1 following Saturday's first leg at Orlando Stadium in Soweto.

Al Ahly Sports Club will host the team during their stay.

On Monday, it emerged the team did not know where it would stay once landing in Cairo.

Under CAF rules, a team needs to know 10 days in advance of a game.
