Police investigating Bedfordview murder
Police say they are investigating a house robbery in the shooting of Veselin Laganin.
JOHANNESBURG - Police are still trying to determine the circumstances surrounding the shooting of Serbian national Veselin Laganin in Bedfordview in the early hours of yesterday morning.
Laganin was arrested along with Czech fugitive Radovan Krejcir last year in connection with a robbery in Pretoria.
He was also allegedly associated to Sam Issa, another associate of Krejcir's who was gunned down in a gangland style hit in Bedfordview last month.
It's still unclear if the apparent robbery was a hit, but police say they're investigating a house robbery that
"went wrong".
"Obviously the investigators will sit and compare notes at the end of the day to compare notes with the other investigation to see if there are any linkages or similarities."
The two suspects entered Laganin's home through an open window but it's unclear how they gained acces s to the secure Wedgewood Green complex which is surrounded with electric fencing.

It's understood they didn't come through the main gate which is guarded by security officers.
Two firearms were found, one of them belonging to Laganin, but police say it's unclear at this stage if he was killed with his own gun.

ANOTHER ALLEGED HIT
Issa, also known as 'Cripple Sam' or 'Black Sam', was shot more than 30 times while he was stopped at a traffic light in his Audi Q7.
He was approached by a white Ford Ranger with an ND registration number.
An unknown suspect fired shots at him.

Various items, including a .38 revolver, 9mm rounds and a silencer were found in his vehicle.
Officers also found four cellphones.
Krejcir has denied ever being close to Issa or having any links to the killing.
A multi-disciplinary task team is investigating the killing.
Shortly after Issa's murder,Jerome Safi, another man allegedly associated to Krejcir's received a death threat saying "you're next".
Krejcir has been named a suspect in a number of high-profile murders but has never been charged.
He is also fighting to avoid extradition to his home country where he has been charged in absentia on a number of charges.
In July, he narrowly survived a bizarre assassination attempt involving a Volkswagen Cross Polo fitted with several gun barrels behind its rear numberplate.
The improvised weapon, which Krejcir himself compared to something out of a James Bond movie, was remotely controlled.
It was triggered as Krejcir exited his car which was then riddled with bullets, but he escaped unharmed.
The Cross Polo then burst into flames.
