JOHANNESBURG - Controversial afro-pop singer Kelly Khumalo and her sister Zandile are due back in the Hillbrow Magistrates Court today on charges of assault.

The pair handed themselves over to police earlier this month for allegedly assaulting the wife of Orlando Pirates goalkeeper, Senzo Meyiwa, who is rumoured to be in a relationship with the singer.

Khumalo and Zandile are facing charges of assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm for allegedly attacking Mandisa Meyiwa without provocation.

Khumalo faces additional charges of negligent driving and malicious damage to property.

She has a son with hip hop artist Molemo 'Jub Jub' Maarohanye, who was convicted for murder last year.

Her biography, The Kelly Khumalo Story, revealed details of their abusive relationship.
