CAPE TOWN - Chapter nine bodies must work together and not in competition with one another, National Assembly Speaker Max Sisulu said on Wednesday.

He was speaking at a meeting between Parliament and Office on Institutions Supporting Democracy (OISD).

Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) chairperson Pansy Tlakula, Auditor General Terence Nombembe and Public Protector Thuli Madonsela attended the gathering.

The aim of the meeting is to improve working relations between Parliament and the institutions.

Sisulu says Parliament and OISD have the same goal.

"All of us work to serve the same person - the South African citizen. We should therefore work together and not against each other or in competition to each other to serve our people."
