Poo-flingers spend the weekend locked up
Three protesters will spend the weekend in jail after a poo-flinging incident in Bellville.
CAPE TOWN - Western Cape police say three protesters will spend the weekend in custody after human faeces was dumped outside the Sanlam building in Bellville.
It's understood 30 people, some believed to be members of the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF), held a protest outside the offices on Friday.
Sanlam's Ainsley Moos says, "[They were] a group of people wearing red berets, claiming to belong to the EFF. As they tried to empty the containers filled with excretion, a scuffle erupted between some of them and police members. The incident lasted for about 15 minutes."
The three protesters, who are from Khayelitsha, are set to appear in court on Monday.
The EFF has been unavailable for comment.
