Currie Cup Final eagerly awaited
Fans of both DHL Western Province and the Sharks are pouring into the Newlands Stadium.
CAPE TOWN - Fans of both DHL Western Province and the Sharks have begun pouring into the Newlands Stadium for the all-important Currie Cup Final.
The two teams are expected to lock horns later this evening.
It's a sea of blue and white at Newlands as fans packed the Stadium for the sold out clash.
There's a pocket of Sharks fans and even two Blue Bulls supporters who seem a bit far from home.
Western Province will be defending their title against the Sharks, a team they beat in Durban last year.
Supporters there are more than confident the cup is staying in the Cape.
However, many are predicting a narrow win for the Sharks.
Anticipation is building at Newlands Stadium this afternoon with kickoff less than 2hrs away.
The Cape Minstrels donned in yellow and red attire adding to the party atmosphere with their songs.
The match is even more special as this is the first final Newlands is hosting in 12 years. Fans are hoping the results are the same as in 2001 where Province beat the Sharks to lift the title.
The match was sold out on Tuesday.
