City banks on Solomons’s experience
Boebie Solomons has the tough task of getting Polokwane City out of the danger zone.
JOHANNESBURG - Polokwane City on Wednesday said the appointment of Boebie Solomons as coach is part of their long-term plan.
The appointment comes after the departure of Duncan Lechesa at the end of September.
His first game in charge will be the Premier Soccer League (PSL) fixture against Wits University tonight.
City spokesperson Patrick Baloyi says the coach comes highly recommended.
"If you look at Boebie's record, you'll realise that he has done well. He comes in with a lot of experience. He's the type of a coach that can get the best out of his players. We gave him a two-year contract."
City's game against Wits is one of three fixtures tonight in the PSL.
Maritzburg United take on SuperSport United while Free State Stars travel to Cape Town to take on Ajax.
All fixtures start at 7:30pm.
