CAPE TOWN - Honeymoon murder accused Shrien Dewani's extradition case is back in court today.

In July, a British court cleared the way for Dewani to stand trial in South Africa for the murder of his bride Anni in an alleged staged hijacking in Khayelitsha in 2010.

But Dewani's legal team will be appealing that ruling.

The 33-year-old is not expected to appear for today's proceedings in the London High Court.

It is likely his lawyers will formally ask the court if they can appeal the matter in the Supreme Court.

If that fails, Dewani's attorneys can still turn to the European Court of Human Rights to keep him from returning to South Africa.

Dewani, who is said to be suffering from post-traumatic stress, maintains he is innocent.

Three South African men are all serving jail time for their roles in the 2010 murder.
