CAPE TOWN - Rugby fans have been queuing at the ticket office at Newlands Stadium since sales opened for the Currie Cup final on Tuesday morning.

Western Province will be defending their title against the Sharks on Saturday.

A total of 48,000 supporters are expected to pack the stadium for WP's first Currie Cup final match in Cape Town since 2001.

There were no mixed feelings in the ticket queue.

"Province is going to annihilate the Sharks. I'm a big Western Province supporter," said one man.

Another said, "Province is going to win. They are going to thrash the Sharks."

"We remain unbeaten, so we can't go lose on Saturday."

The game kicks off at 5:30pm.
