Suspected satanic case postponed
A 17-year-old boy has appeared in court in connection with the gruesome murder.
CAPE TOWN - The case against a Ravensmead teenager accused of the satanic murder of another youth has been postponed.
At this stage it is unclear until when the case has been remanded as the residing magistrate has refused to release the information to the media.
The murder case against the 17-year-old suspect was held in camera at the Bellville Magistrate's Court today.
He was arrested at the weekend after a decapitated body was found at a primary school in the area on Thursday.
Police discovered the victim's head buried in the suspect's front garden.
The National Prosecuting Authority's Eric Ntabazalila says he does not have any further details at this point.
"She has given an order that no information not even a postponement date must be given out to the media. She said the media must only be told the matter has been postponed."
Some residents have told Eyewitness News they are distraught by the gruesome killing.
A vigil will be held this evening at the school where the victim's body was discovered.
The exact motive behind the murder is unclear at this stage.
