JOHANNESBURG - Public Service and Administration Minister Lindiwe Sisulu on Monday launched a school which is aimed at providing training for civil servants and improving professionalism.

The new school, launched at Freedom Park in Pretoria, will replace the Public Administration and Leadership Management Academy.

Sisulu says the success of government depends on the creation of a particular type of public servant.

"Imbued with these are qualities of dedication, commitment, efficiency and professionalism."

Sisulu said the school seeks to address the current shortcomings within the civil service.

"These include serious a skills deficit, inappropriate staffing and low staff morale."

President Jacob Zuma will officially open the school in December.
