JOHANNESBURG - Limpopo police say they are following up on leads in the case of a 33-year-old man believed to be behind the murder of his wife and one-year-old baby.

The man allegedly used an axe to attack his young wife and her toddler following a family dispute in a village in Giyani last week.

The police's Hangwani Mulaudzi on Sunday said community members have been assisting in the search.

"We also like to thank the community for assisting us. We're going to be touching base with our counterparts in Mozambique to assist us because we believe the suspect is from there.

"Hopefully we'll have the suspect behind bars very soon."
