Diepsloot: EFF and ANC supporters face off
Residents call on the EFF to diffuse tensions in the volatile area.
JOHANNESBURG - There's a stand-off between EFF and ANC supporters in Diepsloot where angry community members have once again taken to the streets following the murders of two young cousins.
Hundreds of people are chanting outside a satellite police station in the northern Joburg township.
They're calling for EFF leader Julius Malema to diffuse tensions in the volatile area.
Community members are demanding justice after the rape and murder of Zandile and Yonalisa Mali.
The crowd believes the prime suspect is inside the building.
Four of the five men arrested in connection with the double murder will be back in court next week.
They were formally charged in the Pretoria Magistrates' court this morning with murder, kidnapping and rape.
The fifth man who was arrested in Alexandra this morning is expected to appear in the dock along with his co-accused on Thursday.
