Gupta wedding invites among MP gifts

CAPE TOWN - Gupta family wedding invitations and an Indian elephant are among the gifts declared by Members of Parliament (MPs) in Parliament's latest register of members' interests.
The register, which is compiled annually, was released on Wednesday.
All MPs must declare their financial interests, gifts, sponsorships and other benefits once a year to avoid potential conflicts of interest.
Gupta wedding invitations were declared by those who made the cut, although the Democratic Alliance (DA)'s Wilmot James stated that he did not attend.
Trade and Industry Minister Rob Davies listed two nights' accommodation paid for by the Gupta family.
The DA's Lindiwe Mazibuko revealed her hair and nails are groomed for free.

Deputy speaker Nomaindia Mfeketo listed an Indian elephant as among her gifts.
