Big Brother stars call on AU to end poverty
Dr Sipho Moyo says the ONE Campaign worked with Big Brother Africa to attract young people.
JOHANNESBURG - Big Brother Africa (BBA) and the ONE Campaign have backed the call urging the African Union (AU) to do more to eradicate poverty in Africa.
BBA housemates made a video during the charity week in August to raise awareness on the issues facing the continent.
Africa One Director, Dr Sipho Moyo, said ONE collaborated with BBA because of the young people involved in BBA.
"BBA has a big viewership and we wanted to spread awareness about the problem of poverty facing Africa."
The winning video will be announced at a media event later today in Sandton.
The video will be handed over to the AU at the event in commemoration of the United Nations Poverty Eradication Day.
Moyo urged young people to help spread awareness.
"The ONE Campaign is an international, non-profit, organisation that fights extreme poverty and people must join because they will get involved in the campaigns we do and can work with policy makers that work on reducing poverty."
