Fransman sorry for anti-Semitic comments
MP Ben Turok has accepted Marius Fransman’s apology for making anti-Semitic comments.
CAPE TOWN - Veteran African National Congress (ANC) Member of Parliament (MP) Ben Turok says while he has accepted an apology from the Deputy International Relations Minister regarding a controversial comment he allegedly made, it is up to the party to decide whether or not to pursue disciplinary measures.
Turok has lodged a complaint with the ANC against Deputy Marius Fransman after he apparently made an anti-Semitic remark during a Cape Town Press Club gathering.
But Turok says he hopes the matter can be put to bed after Fransman apologised.
"I have read an article where I see Fransman has apologised for his comments on Jewish people and I accept the apology. I hope the matter is closed."
