Malema: Refuse ANC your votes
Julius Malema says people should use Nkandla and the Guptagate as reasons not to vote for the ANC.
JOHANNESBURG - Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) President Julius Malema has told his supporters to use Nkandla and the Guptagate saga as reasons to vote for his party, and not the ANC.
Malema launched the EFF party at the Marikana koppie near Rustenburg at the weekend and will take on the ANC in next year's national elections.
United Democratic Movement President Bantu Holomisa attended the event as a VIP guest, saying the EFF had come at the right time as people had lost faith in the ruling party.
Malema said South Africans must think of the 34 Marikana miners who were killed during the labour strike last August before casting their votes in the 2014 national elections.
"You must refuse with your votes against those who gave the Guptas a licence to land in Pretoria and those who have built Nkandla with your money."
The EFF president said there's no difference between the apartheid regime which killed people and the government under the leadership of President Jacob Zuma who he claims is responsible for the death of the Marikana miners.
Malema added the only way South Africans could punish those responsible for the Marikana deaths was to vote against the ANC.
"Go and register and vote against those who killed you and you can't say you're not going to vote because if you don't vote, those who support them will vote and put them into power and they'll kill many others."
