Five WC depts. get clean audits
Public works and community safety are among the departments which received clean audits.
CAPE TOWN - The Western Cape is one of the best financially managed regions, the Auditor General's office revealed on Monday.
Western Cape Finance and Economic Development MEC Alan Winde released the province's audit report on Monday, which showed several improvements.
He says the latest report card confirms the province has become better at managing public funds.
While there are still challenges, Winde says issues raised by the Auditor General last year decreased significantly in this financial year.
Five government departments, including public works and community safety, received clean audits.
Winde says departments that did not receive clean audits were plagued by technical matters.
