All systems go for matric exams
Education quality council Umalusi says it is prepared for a smooth matric exam season.
JOHANNESBURG - Education quality council Umalusi on Monday said it is ready for the 2013 matric final examinations.
It says new systems are in place to ensure exams run smoothly.
Umalusi CEO Mafu Rakometsi says they appointed enough security to ensure fair exams for all candidates.
He made the comments during a briefing at the University of Johannesburg's Bunting Road Campus on Monday.
Rokometsi says they expect more than 700,000 matriculants to write exams at 6,699 exam centres across the country in 2013.
The council is confident it will experience no problems.
Umalusi says its systems are top-of-the range and officials are ready for any problems.
The council says papers are ready to be delivered to schools.
Rakometsi expressed confidence in his team and in the Independent Examination Board (IEB).
