CAPE TOWN - The community of Jeffreys Bay in the Eastern Cape is in shock after a fatal shark attack in the area on Friday, a surfing company said on Saturday.
A Great White shark attacked and killed a 74-year-old man near the Albatross beach.
The body of experienced open water swimmer Burget van der Westhuizen has since been handed over to officials.
Surf Jay-Bays' Dane Morris said "the big question is when will people get back into the water."
"No one is sure, I don't think anyone is brave enough to get back in there any time soon, at least in the next couple of weeks or so."
As a result of the attack all the beaches at the world-renowned surfing location have been closed until further notice.
