JOHANNESBURG - Former Bafana Bafana player Phil Masinga says it's great to see a host of young players in the squad for their friendly against Morocco tonight.

While a host of World Cup qualifiers take place the national team have to settle for this game having not booked their place in the soccer show piece.

Two youngsters in Belgium based Ayanda Patosi and Ajax Cape Town's Keagan Dolly are in the squad.

Masinga says these players are the future of the team.

"They've given the younger stars a chance to gain experience, especially international experience, calling up a lot of promising new players for 2015 and 2018."

Despite not qualifying for the World Cup, Masinga says Gordong Igesund is the man to lead Bafana to success.

"The mandate given to Gordon was unrealistic. He inherited a lot of problems in the team that he had to fix and make sure that the team does well.

"So far he has done very well."
