Flung Metrorail rock kills girl
A girl has died after being hit in the head with a rock thrown at a Metrorail train.
CAPE TOWN - Metrorail on Monday said children as young as five are behind deadly stone throwing incidents on the Khayelitsha train line.
Last week a 12-year-old girl was hit in the head with a rock while travelling on the train.
She died in hospital later.
At least four other people have been hurt in similar incidents in recent weeks.
Meanwhile, the Rail Commuters Action Group's Leslie van Minnen said Metrorail could be held liable.
"If the stones were thrown from a passenger bridge that went from platform to platform Metrorail has something to answer for."
