CAPE TOWN - Western Province coach Allister Coetzee on Tuesday described this weekend's clash against the Sharks as a "little final".

The two sides will battle it out in Durban for top spot on the Currie Cup table.

Province is on top of the log with 33 points, just one point ahead of the Sharks.

The winning side will host the Currie Cup semi-final.

The final will take place on 26 October.

Coetzee says there is a lot riding on this game.

"It's massive. You play to finish top of the log; that's like a little final on its own."

Kick-off is at 7:10pm on Saturday.
