CAPE TOWN - Two people were killed and several others displaced in separate shack fires in Cape Town on Saturday morning.

A woman lost her life and 32 others were left homeless after a blaze gutted their informal dwellings in Rasta Kamp Somerset West.

In another incident in Schaapkraal, a woman died after she was trapped inside his burning house.

Disaster Risk Management's Wilfred Solomons-Johannes says, "The City of Cape Town and other authorities will investigate these incidents."
