JOHANNESBURG - Former Platinum Stars player Simba Marumo believes the team can cause an upset against Orlando Pirates during Saturday's MTN8 final.

The Rustenburg outfit booked their spot in the final following a 6-3 aggregate victory against Bidvest Wits.

The free-scoring nature of the side has been a revelation for South African football.

Marumo says this will make the final exciting.

"I love the way Platinum Stars play. They don't play typical South African football; they attack with almost seven to eight players. They are really a joy to watch."

Marumo believes the attack policy used by Stars is the only way forward for local football.

He said this will bring fans back to the stadium.

"We need to put less emphasis on being defensive and a bit more emphasis on going forward. I would like to see more teams playing a lot more attacking football."

Marumo has put the recent success of Stars down to the leadership of the experienced players in the team.

"We have leaders within the team, guys that are respected by the rest of the team and there's a harmonious working relationship between everybody."

The final kicks off at 8:15pm at Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban.
