Western, Northern and Eastern Cape police have seized drugs and counterfeit goods worth R4.5 million.
CAPE TOWN - Western Cape police at the weekend said together with their Northern and Eastern Cape counterparts, they seized drugs and counterfeit goods worth more than R4.5 million.
Several operations and roadblocks were held at various border points over the past week.
Officials also raided dozens of second hand shops and scrap metal dealers in areas including Beaufort West and George.
The police's Malcolm Pojie, "We arrested 288 suspects in total during the cross border operation. 34 of the arrests were made for corruption-related offences while the rest were made for the possession of stolen goods, dealing liquor without a license and burglaries."
